What education is
required before I can apply for my license? You must have 210 classroom hours
of acceptable education, which includes 150 classroom hours of credit in
core real estate subjects as defined by the Texas Real Estate License Act (TRELA).
You must complete all of the required education BEFORE filing your license
application. The provisions of TRELA require that you complete:
- 60 classroom hours of credit
in Real Estate Principles

30 classroom hours of credit
in Law of Agency

30 classroom hours of credit
in Law of Contracts
-
30 classroom hours of credit
in an elective core real estate course.

60 classroom hours of credit of
core
courses or in
related
courses acceptable to TREC
The subject and course content for your
elective core course is for you to choose. In addition to Real Estate
Principles, Law of Agency and Law of Contracts, we offer core courses in
Real Estate Law, Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate
Marketing, Real Estate Investments and Property Management. The remaining 60
classroom hours of credit may be from core real estate subjects or real
estate related subjects. Credit for real estate related subjects may be
obtained from college courses.
