If your unit is going to be unoccupied over the holidays, please consider the following:
- Stop your newspaper deliveries
- Arrange for someone to check your front door for deliveries
- Arrange to stop or forward your mail
- Leave the heat turned on in case of a cold snap
- Light timers will make the unit look occupied
- Turn off the water supplies (e.g., the water to your toilets or clothes washer) in your unit.
- Turn off the hot water heater
- Make sure any space heaters are turning off and unplugged
Make sure Equity Real Estate has a current contact number in case of an emergency while you are away.
