Biography

My name is Mackenzie Rae Miles, and I was born on April 29, 1986. I grew up in West Texas where the wind never stops blowing and tumbleweeds are everywhere. I spent 20 years of my life there, until my parents moved to the Houston area a year and a half ago. I am a transfer student from the University of Texas Permian Basin, which is in Odessa, Texas. There I swam on the swim team for three years and served as a team captain. I enjoyed being there, but my parents relocation gave me a desire to transfer to Texas A&M and finish my education as a Texas Aggie. I am majoring in interdisciplinary studies, to pursue my teachers' certification in grade levels 4th-8th. I plan on teaching for a few years, and going back to get my Masters degree in counseling for high school students. I love kids and cannot wait to be in the classroom with them as I have a desire to help them learn! I will be doing my student teaching in the fall of 2009 and will be graduating in December of 2009.

I have an older brother who attends the University of Texas at San Antonio and a seventeen-year old sister who is a junior in high school. Now that my parents live 2 hours away from me, I often take trips home to see them and my younger sister. When not busy with work or homework you can find me spending time with family and friends, relaxing, working out and, watching movies. I love life and am blessed to be surrounded by wonderful family and friends.
